Found in Malaysia east Asia, Atlas beetles are herbivores which means they eat fruit although the larvae eat rotting wood and leaves. In captivity we give them papaya, orange, apple and small bits of vegetable.
- Up to 8 months (as a beetle).
- Lay eggs.
- Adults reach around 12 centimetres.
- Habitat being rainforests.
- Nocturnal insect.
Crazy Fact
The Atlas Beetle can lift and carry weights more than 850 times it's own body mass. This is the equivalent of an average human picking up and carrying a bus.
